Maiak Lighthouse Media is an independent media outlet publishing longform stories about people and their lives. We are the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR, UK GDPR, and the Law of Ukraine on Personal Data Protection.
2. What data we collect and why
Newsletter subscription. We collect your email address when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter. Emails are sent via MailerLite. You can read their privacy policy at: https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy
Legal basis: your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics collects anonymised behavioural data via cookies. You can read Google’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

3. Newsletter
We only send emails to people who have explicitly subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link — you can opt out at any time. Once you unsubscribe, your email address will be removed from our list within 30 days.
We do not share subscriber email addresses with any third parties or use them for any purpose other than our newsletter.
