New Ukrainian Educational Hub to open in Cambridge

A new Ukrainian Educational Hub will open in Cambridge on 19 September, creating a space for learning, professional development, new connections and community initiatives for Ukrainians living across Cambridgeshire.

The official opening will take place at Downing Place United Reformed Church in Cambridge city centre. The event will bring together representatives of Ukrainian and British educational, cultural and community organisations, businesses, as well as anyone interested in finding out more about the Hub and its future projects.

The Cambridge Hub will become part of the Ukrainian Educational Hub Network in the UK. Its programme will include educational talks and workshops, career and business events, cultural activities, programmes for children and families, women’s initiatives and networking events. The team also plans to work with local educational institutions, community organisations and businesses.

“Cambridge has a growing Ukrainian community, and we want to create a place where people can not only learn and develop new skills, but also meet each other, exchange experiences and feel part of the wider local community,” said Mariia Kolomiichenko, Head of the Ukrainian Educational Hub in Cambridge.

“The Hub is also about building stronger connections between Ukrainians and people and organisations in Cambridge. We hope it will become a space where new educational, professional and cultural collaborations can begin.”

The opening programme will include discussions on education and lifelong learning, professional development, entrepreneurship, innovation and cultural diplomacy. The team will also present its plans for the Hub, while guests will have the opportunity to meet speakers, volunteers and potential partners and learn how they can get involved.

The Ukrainian Educational Hub in the UK has already delivered more than 220 events across the country, says Eugenia Zhyryakova, Head of the Educational Hub in the UK. Its work has covered education and careers, entrepreneurship, employment, culture, programmes for women, children and young people, and professional networking.
