London Hosts Pro-Ukraine Rally and European Leaders’ Summit on War in Ukraine

On March 2, 2025, two significant events in support of Ukraine took place in London.

A large rally was held on Downing Street, where around a thousand people gathered to show solidarity with Ukraine. Protesters carried banners reading “Russia get out of Ukraine”, “History remembers cowards”, and “Occupation is not a peace”, emphasizing their strong stance against Russian aggression. Ukrainian photographer, Japanese linguist, and software engineer Yuliana Romaniv attended the demonstration and documented the event in a photo report on our website.

That same day, a high-profile summit of European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and others, was held in London to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The summit focused on strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and exploring pathways to a just and lasting peace. The presence of key political leaders and the support shown by thousands in the streets highlight the unwavering international backing for Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty.

Yuliana Romaniv’s full photo report from the rally is available.
