Maiak is created by an international team with a Ukrainian heart — editors, journalists, artists, illustrators, etc. — based in Ukraine, England, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, and beyond.
We believe in meaningful work: everyone on the team does what they love and do best, with respect for personal boundaries and for the dignity of the people whose stories we tell.
We work thoughtfully and responsibly, staying away from news noise. You will not find political scandals, crime reports, celebrity gossip, or sensational headlines here. This is a space to slow down and see the human behind the story.
